Le Guaite di Noemi

Nel 1987 Stefano Pizzighella acquista un piccolo frantoio per avviare la produzione dell’olio, sfruttando alcuni ettari di uliveto di famiglia posti sulle colline del piccolo comune di Mezzane di Sotto. Dopo qualche anno, la famiglia continua ad investire sul territorio e pianta la vite nella parte più alta delle colline, chiamata Le Guaite. Le tipologie di terreno sono variegate: nella parte più alta della collina di Mezzane confluiscono roccia bianca calcarea, roccia calcarea rosa ferrosa e roccia basaltica contenente olivina e pirossene. Negli ettari restanti la tipologia di terreno è meno variegata.

Nel 2002, quando i vigneti cominciano ad essere produttivi, l’azienda vitivinicola Le Guaite inizia la vinificazione dei vini tipici della Valpolicella. Le Guaite di Noemi, piccola azienda a conduzione familiare giunta alla quarta generazione, continua oggi, con l’ingresso della figlia Noemi.

A soli 10 minuti a Nord di Verona, incastonata fra la Lessinia ed il Lago di Garda, si entra nel mondo incantato della Valpolicella. Un territorio che si potrebbe definire magico, quasi mistico, e che sin dal V secolo A.C. è stato palcoscenico della la più bella storia d’amore mai raccontata: quella tra l’uomo e la vite. I figli di questo amore oggi sono conosciuti in tutto il mondo. Vini come il Recioto, il Valpolicella Superiore, il Valpolicella Ripasso e il nobile Amarone si sono indubbiamente distinti per la loro eleganza e potenza e hanno saputo restare sempre fedeli alla tradizione, nonostante le minacce di un mondo globalizzato. Troverai i nostri vigneti sulle Colline di Mezzane di sotto, fianco a fianco a quelli del celeberrimo Romano dal Forno, mentore e amico. La nostra piccola cantina e frantoio è sempre aperta e pronta ad accogliere curiosi ed appassionati, per mostrare ciò che la nostra terra e il nostro amore sono capaci di creare.

    Amarone della Valpolicella DOC designation of origin and guaranteed
    Area: Mezzane di Sopra (Verona) Vineyard: Le Guaite Altitude: 450/500 mt. s.l.m. Soil profile: limestone with white calcareous rock, pink ferrous calcareous rock, basaltic rock containing minerals olivine and pyroxene, and volcanic soil.
    Type of grapes: Corvina 35%, Rondinella 20%, Corvinone 35%, other grapes 10% (Oseletta, Croatina).
    Breeding: guyot Density: 5000 vinestock ha.
    Vinification and maturation: the grapes are harvested at the beginning of October, drying for 3 month all the grapes, de-stemming, pressing, cryomaceration, controlled-temperature fermentation with cultured yeasts and simultaneous malolactic, followed by maturation in new French oak barriques about 36 months and after the bottling aging other 48 month in ours bottles storage.

    Technical data : alcohol 17% residual sugar 4,4g/l total acidity 6,5 g/l dry extract 40 g/l Color: deep ruby red, with reflexes garnet. Bouquet: notes of red cherry, black/blue berry, black plum,balsamic hint,fresh fannel, pepper.

    Palate: smooth and seductive, with an appealing sapidity and an optimal acidity and frank notes of red/black fruits mature, spices, balsamic, fruits in spirits, tertiary perfumes. Best served with: it goes perfectly with many kinds of food such as braised, big steaks , roast beef, aged cheeses, game meat. Serving temperature: 16 – 18°C

    Area: Mezzane di Sopra (Verona) Vineyard: Le Guaite Altitude: 500 mt. s.l.m. Soil profile: limestone with white calcareous rock, pink ferrous calcareous rock, basaltic rock containing minerals olivine and pyroxene, and volcanic soil.
    Type of grapes: Corvina 35%, Rondinella 20%, Corvinone 35%, 5% Oseletta, 5% Coratina. Breeding: guyot
    Density: 5000 vinestock ha. Vinification and maturation: the grapes are harvested in October, drying for 6 months approx, de-stemming, pressing, cryomaceration, controlledtemperature fermentation with cultured yeasts and simultaneous malolactic, followed by maturation in new barriques Franch Oak about 36 months and after the bottling other 24 month.

    Technical data: alcohol 13% residual sugar 136 g/l total acidity 7,1 g/l dry extract 48 g/l Color: deep garnet red intense.

    Bouquet: notes of cherry in alcohol, chocolate. violet, coffee, prunes, blackberries, Palate: smooth and seductive, with an appealing sapidity and an optimal acidity and frank notes of ripe fruits and spices.
    Best served with: it goes perfectly with many kinds of food such as blue-cheeses, chocolate, biscuits, cacao or chocolate cake.

    Soil profile: limestone with white calcareous rock, pink ferrous calcareous rock, basaltic rock containing minerals olivine and pyroxene, and volcanic soil.
    Type of grapes: Corvina 35%, Rondinella 20%, Corvinone 35%, other grapes 10% (Oseletta, Croatina). Breeding: guyot Density: 5000 vinestock ha.
    Vinification and maturation: the grapes are harvested at the end of September, drying for 1 month all the grapes, de-stemming, pressing, cryomaceration, controlled-temperature fermentation with cultured yeasts and simultaneous malolactic, second fermentation with Amarone marc, decanting in steel tank, followed by maturation in French oak barriques second pass about 36 months and after the bottling aging other 24 month in ours bottles storage.
